F.O.R. Summer Spectacular

July 15th - July 20th, 2018

$0 - $40

Go on an amazing international short-term mission trip without the need for a passport, vaccinations, fund-raising, or a mosquito net! This summer we are bringing a team to Clarkston to serve alongside Friends of Refugees at their Summer Spectacular, a week long summer camp for children of refugee families.

OUR VISION

To demonstrate and proclaim the gospel of grace to one another and our city by engaging some of the most unreached people groups in our area. Through our connections in Clarkston, we desire to meet refugee families who live in the Lawrenceville area as we seek to fulfill our biblical calling to minister to the sojourners in our midst.

COST

We are able to bring 15 adults/teens on this trip. Children younger than middle-school can come but will be enrolled in the camp. (Cost $40.00 - At checkout, simply pay what you are able, we have some donated funds to help with this.)

The cost for the adults/teens on this trip ($80) has been paid for by a generous donor.

Registration for this event is simply an application. Because space on the team is limited, we will consider applications on a first-come first-served basis, but may make exceptions based upon the needs of the team. All team members will need to be background checked.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Because Clarkston is approximately 30 minutes from us, team members get to return home and enjoy the comfort of their own bed each night.

Breakfast is provided by Friends of Refugees. Each team member will bring their own lunch each day of the camp. Children enrolled in camp will be provided breakfast and lunch each day.

COMMITMENT REQUIREMENTS

This is a week-long commitment. Although we will be going home each night, it is important that each team member be able to attend each and every day of the trip.

PRE-TRIP MATTERS

The team will meet for five weeks prior to the trip from 9 to 10am on Sunday mornings at New City Church. Dates for this training: 6/3, 6/10, 6/17, 6/24, and 7/8.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 5.27.2018

Foundations | Doctrines of the Church

July 22nd, 2018

This course is a guided discussion about key doctrines of the Church. Our aim is to develop a better understanding of biblical truth in order to grow in our own faith and ministry to others.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?

Those considering leading a Discipleship Group or who may be nominated as church officers should definitely take this course.

The class is open to any adult or high-school student who is interested.

If you are someone who already has a good knowledge of doctrine, we would love for you to join us and participate in the discussion-style format.

SCHEDULE

This is an 8 week course. We will meet every Sunday from June 3rd through July 22nd from 12:30pm to 2:30pm at New City Church. (On June 3rd, we will get a late start due to the Congregational Meeting that day.)

LUNCH

You should go grab lunch after the Worship Gathering and bring it back to class with you. Or brown-bag it! It'll be fun. We will have some snacks and water each week. (Note on June 3rd, class will begin after the Congregational Meeting - y'all should bring a lunch that week.)

COST

This class is free! There will be a book to purchase.

CHILDCARE

We will provide childcare

COMMITMENT

We will recommend several resources to read, but there will be minimal required reading. There will be no written homework and there is no final exam. This class is designed to be a discussion about doctrine, not a lecture.
